LOL I can picture the exact commercial!  It’s bugging me now because I can’t remember the name of the game either… I just started searching through some old game commercials and I’ll let you know if I find it.

well it didn’t sound familiar at all, so I looked it up, and I definitely remember Puzzle Place!  I watched the intro on Youtube and it brought back some memories!
