Those Were the '90s

semicharmedd asked: "i thought of a few more things that i didnt see :)
password journals, the mystery files of shelby woo, super soakers, teenie beanies from mcdonalds!"

thanks so much for looking through!  those are great!  I still remember my good friend and I sitting together to read all the time, and she would read Shelby Woo books and I’d have my Alex Mack books ^_^

fast food restaurants had the coolest toys too!  I still have my beanies!

So, I just discovered something really handy.  Maybe I’m just a little slow on the uptake here LOL, but on the VERY bottom of my blog, there is a Search button that searches through all of my posts.

I know some of you have been asking if I have posted certain things, so I thought this might be helpful.  If you want to see what I have posted, or if I have posted something specific, just type it in and you’ll see everything I’ve ever blogged about it!

I’m really excited that I have this feature because things get so easily lost in all of these pages of blogging!  I hope this helps some of you out too!

(but also, don’t hesitate to ask if you don’t find anything in the search, or if you can’t remember the name of something!)

xx

bloggleblahblah asked: "my thoughts exactly regarding my 90's kid question...thanks. :)

anyway...i absolutely love your site. brings back good old memories of my childhood/teendom..i was such a tv addict then and even until now. so anyways..i haven't really gone through everything yet...noticed you have a lot about Sabrina, Boy Meets World and what not..was just wondering..do you have posts on Hey Dude, Salute Your Shorts, Ghost Writer and California Dream? They're classics as well...and there are still so much more. :) i love it. thanks for this. :D"

thank you so much!  I think I have a couple SYS posts, but nothing about the others you mentioned.  so, thank you for the suggestions!

I love suggestions like that because I tend to post lots of my personal favorite stuff and forget about other great things!

Top 10 Things Today’s Kids Won’t Experience

(All credit to TIME, where I came across this article)

1. Camera Film

2. Landline Phones

3. Real Books

this, I don’t exactly agree with. I will go absolutely insane if real books become obsolete one day.  but for now, things like Kindle are making digital book popularity grow considerably.

4. Being Lost

(thanks to Smart Phones, GPS, etc.)

5. MUSIC VIDEOS ON MTV!

quote from TIME article: Remember when MTV played music videos? Remember when the M in MTV stood for “Music” (a word which the company officially removed from its name in February of this year)? Remember when no one had ever heard of Snooki? The television station once famous for forward-thinking music video shows like 120 Minutes and Alternative Nation — even the early years of Total Request Live — now can largely be summed up in three words: gym, tan, laundry. What happened?

6. Walkmans

7. THE GLORY DAYS OF NICK @ NITE!

aka, the days when N@N was all about the classics: I Love Lucy, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Happy Days, The Wonder Years.  Sorry but last time I checked, George Lopez and Everybody Hates Chris were NOT classic-worthy -_-

8. Tan M&Ms

apparently, this color hasn’t been seen since the mid-90s.  I have no recollection of tan.. but I do remember when they added Blue! ;)

9. Czechoslovakia

10. Arnold Schwarzenegger: Terminator

it seems strange to me that kids will grow to learn that Arnold is a governor first, rather than the Terminator-turned-politician that we all know.

here is a video to sum up just about everything I love about Cory Matthews. XD

thehurtkid asked: "I dunno if you've posted about it before but, Mrs. Doubtfire. Amazing movie from the 90's."

I have, but there is always room for more of that fantastic movie!
