emilydoublenickel-deactivated20 asked: "I was born in the early 90s and I absolutely love your blog! In one post you said that you student teaching. I'm an education major too. Next semester I'm observing 2nd grade at my old elementary school. Is there any advice you can give me about student teaching?"

Thank you!  Yes, I just finished student teaching.  I was so, so nervous about it, but I had the most wonderful experience ever.  I would contact your cooperating teacher ahead of time so you can get to know each other— it also makes a good first impression.  When you get in there,  observe how the room works, how the teacher handles classroom management, and start building a strong rapport with the kids and the staff.  Kids (especially the really little ones) are going to think you’re just the greatest person ever because you’re new in their classroom, you’re young, and they’ll see you as their new best friend.  Classroom management is the most difficult thing.  They’ll test you a lot, but don’t be afraid to lay down the law when you get up there to teach.  They need to learn that you’re their teacher, too.  They’ll still love you at the end of the day.  Also, your cooperating teacher is there to help you, so seek out all the constructive criticism you can get.  (and if, by some chance, you get a terrible placement, don’t be afraid to bring your complaints to the college.  I had major problems with one of my placements, and my college moved me to a wonderful school after just one day.)

It’s a stressful but really rewarding experience.  Good luck!!

kaytrend asked: "I finally got my DVD/VHS hooked up! I was bored one night so I went into my basement to find movies to watch and I found a box labeled "books" and it was filled with disney movies! ;D"

what a nice surprise!  haha I hope you had a fun Disney movie marathon!  I still have my VHS hooked up in my room.  My grandpa gave it to me when I was about 10-years-old.  I can’t believe it still works. =P

demonrubberducky asked: "ohmaigosh!!! your blog is absolutely wonderful! all these memories from the 90s, i miss it sooooo much. I'm having a nostalgia overflow right now. i think what I miss the most was the lunchable boxes that had pokemon cards on the back you could cut out. i just really miss the 90s in general"

thank you!  Lunchables in general were just the best in the ’90s, weren’t they?  I remember when the boxes had Nickelodeon things on them… like 3D glasses or Smell-O-Vision… I can’t remember exactly, but it was awesome. lol

Hello lovely tumblr world!  I hope you’re having a fantastic December.  I love this time of year.  We have snow on the ground already!

I can’t believe how this blog is growing.  I’m amazed every time I log in, and I am so appreciative of the love and submissions you’ve all been sending this way.  I’ve been letting my messages pile up again— I apologize for that, but will get to them soon!

Also, I just wanted to share with you that I’ve been accepted into the Disney World College Program for the spring!  I am graduating from college next week, so this was really my last chance to do it.  I’m so excited that I got in!  Anybody else out there going this spring??  I’d love to get to know some of you!
